Sunday, June 13th, 2010: Smith Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Seth Smith -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and really shined on the diamond at U.S. Cellular Field, but the performance lost a little glitter when the White Sox were downed 15-12 by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

After his sparkling batting performance the Chicago (A) center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His batting theory paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too."

S. Smith hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off G. Valera in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off L. Barcelo in the 8th.

So far this season Smith has hit .277 with 8 home runs, 38 RBIs and and scored 44 times.
Sunday, June 6th, 2010: Head Hittin' on All Four, Hits Cycle
What do you get when you take a good eye, some bat control, speed and power?

Well, if you add a little bit of luck and mix it all together, you get what Stephen Head of the Chicago (A) White Sox had today at U.S. Cellular Field. He put together quite a performance at the plate and came away with the cycle, helping his team clip Colorado 12-8 and give the fans a memory they will never forget.

"This is the most amazing feat I've ever witnessed at a ballgame!" exclaimed a longtime Chicago (A) fan. "I have probably been to several hundred games in my life and I've never seen anything like it."

For the day the White Sox first baseman had 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Head etched his name into the record books by hitting a single, a double, a triple and a homerun, all in the same game. When asked after the game how it felt to join such an exclusive group, Head replied, "It just feels great to help the team get the W."

S. Head struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off R. Janssen in the 4th, walked in a run in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit a two-run double in the 9th and hit a two-run triple in the 11th.

So far in 2010 Head is hitting .276 with 7 home runs, 33 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has 51 hits and played in 56 games.
