Well, if you add a little bit of luck and mix it all together, you get what Stephen Head of the Chicago (A) White Sox had today at U.S. Cellular Field. He put together quite a performance at the plate and came away with the cycle, helping his team clip Colorado 12-8 and give the fans a memory they will never forget.
"This is the most amazing feat I've ever witnessed at a ballgame!" exclaimed a longtime Chicago (A) fan. "I have probably been to several hundred games in my life and I've never seen anything like it."
For the day the White Sox first baseman had 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Head etched his name into the record books by hitting a single, a double, a triple and a homerun, all in the same game. When asked after the game how it felt to join such an exclusive group, Head replied, "It just feels great to help the team get the W."
S. Head struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off R. Janssen in the 4th, walked in a run in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit a two-run double in the 9th and hit a two-run triple in the 11th.
So far in 2010 Head is hitting .276 with 7 home runs, 33 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has 51 hits and played in 56 games. | _White_Sox.png) | Tuesday, June 1st, 2010: Doolittle Wins Rookie of the Month Sean Doolittle earned the American League Rookie of the Month award for his fine play in May.
The 23-year-old Chicago (A) left fielder batted .370, smacked no home runs and drove in 14 runs. He also tagged 30 hits, scored 13 runs and picked up 10 walks for a .440 on-base percentage.
