Wednesday, September 24th, 2008: Keppel Hurls Blue Jays to Shutout Win
In a knockout performance, Bob Keppel beat the Red Sox 4-0 with an impressive 3-hit shutout.

The Blue Jays hurler finished with 12 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

Keppel told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."

The Red Sox manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."

In 30 starts this season Keppel has registered a 14-7 record and a 3.49 ERA.
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008: Toronto's McGowan Shuts Out Yankees
Today at SkyDome Dustin McGowan baffled New York (A) batters on 3 hits en route to a 6-0 shutout.

"He was able to keep hitters off balance and got the ball down," said the Blue Jays skipper about his starter's performance.

McGowan had 10 strikeouts and no walks in the game.

Looking at his season stats, McGowan has won 19 and lost 10, collecting 232 strikeouts and 32 walks in 249.1 innings with a 2.82 ERA.
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008: Mauer Hashes Out 3-year Contract
Rumors have become reality as Joe Mauer put his signature on a contract that will keep him in Toronto another 3 years. The deal is valued at $14,740,000 per year.

In his season totals, Mauer has 18 home runs, .304 BA, .366 OBP, 81 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has played in 121 games.
