Speaking after the game, the High Desert manager said, "Mike Esposito had everything going for him. He controlled their bat speed, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all...masterful."
Esposito held the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes to 2 hits and fashioned a fine 5-0 shutout. He had 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the Rancho Cucamonga skipper told reporters.
So far this season, Esposito has logged a 12-8 record with a 3.00 ERA. He has started 25 games, hurled 200.2 innings and registered 154 strikeouts and 56 walks.

Brandon Moore of the High Desert Mavericks shut out the Kingston Indians 3-0, stopped them on 6 hits and had 3 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Brandon stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."
In 26 starts this year Moore has fashioned a 7-15 record and a 5.22 ERA.
