Saturday, July 31st, 2010: Stone Crabs Shut Out Yankees, Hobgood Winner
Charlotte pitcher Matt Hobgood blanked the Tampa Yankees 5-0, tossing a 5-hitter while issuing 2 walks and collecting 2 strikeouts.

After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."

In 18 starts this year Hobgood has fashioned a 7-7 record and a 2.78 ERA.
Sunday, July 18th, 2010: Tampa Pitcher Awesome in Shutout
After his 6-0 shutout win against the Flying Tigers, Derek Thompson said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."

They were better than good as the Yankees pitcher put up 6 strikeouts, surrendered 1 walk, allowed 6 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

In 2010 Thompson has a 8-3 record with a 2.67 ERA in 14 starts.

Tyler Cox of the Tampa Yankees mixed his pitches well and fashioned a 6-0 shutout today. The 23-year-old hurler shut down the High Desert offense, holding them to 4 hits. He struck out 7 while walking 1.
