| Breaking News | | Tuesday, June 8th, 2010: Trumbo Blanks Reading All went well for Mark Trumbo of the Bowie BaySox as he pitched his team to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Reading Phillies, limiting them to 1 hit while ringing up 4 strikeouts and surrendering 2 walks.
In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Trumbo.
His manager described him this way: "He's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy. He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
The Reading skipper said, "He doesn't give you anything twice. It's a guessing game with him and today my club was always guessing wrong."
This season-to-date Trumbo has 9 wins and 2 losses and a 2.06 ERA. | | Tuesday, May 18th, 2010: Razor-Sharp Buck Blanks Portland A masterful pitching performance carried the Bowie BaySox to a 11-0 victory over Portland. Dallas Buck held them scoreless in a complete game effort. He permitted 5 hits, had 7 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk.
The skipper of the Sea Dogs said, "Buck was sharp. We never did figure him out."
This year Buck has posted a 6-4 mark in 12 starts and has a 2.83 ERA. | | Sunday, May 16th, 2010: Maine Guns down Bowie "I hope we miss him next time," the Bowie manager said. "Maine certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
The Erie starter tamed the Bowie BaySox 3-0 with a 4-hit shutout, finishing the game with 4 strikeouts and no walks in a sharp outing.
"I enjoy facing a team like that where I can get an out on one, two or three pitches," Maine said. "It gives me a chance to be a lot more aggressive."
In 2010 Maine has compiled a 7-1 record with a 1.83 ERA in 9 starts. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | LF Logan Schafer | fractured nose | 2 weeks | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 37-28, .569 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 16.0 GB | | Record at home | 19-11, .633 PCT | | Record on the road | 18-17, .514 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-3, .625 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 14-7, .667 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-9, .550 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 26-19, .578 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 6-2, .750 PCT |
