| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 18th, 2010: Bowie BaySox Capture Round 2 They did it! The Bowie BaySox are the best team in the Eastern League! They did it by knocking off the New Britain Rock Cats 4-1 today at Field of the BaySox to win the Round 2 4-2.
It was the BaySox 1st league championship.
"This team's got a lot of heart," the champs manager said. "We worked really hard. We just beat a very, very good team, an excellent team. We had to do the little things."
Bowie rapped up the regular season with a 86-56 record and finished second in the Southern Division. |  | Saturday, September 11th, 2010: McNiven Struts Stuff in Bowie Win New Britain pitcher Brooks McNiven put on a show today and walked away with a 7-0 shutout victory over the Bowie BaySox, throttling them on 4 hits. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 5 and walking 1 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
So far this year McNiven has compiled a 18-9 record with a 3.03 ERA. |  | Friday, August 13th, 2010: Bowie's Abrams in Shutout Victory Casey Abrams of the Bowie BaySox was lights out in a 2-hit whitewash of the Altoona Curve.
He told SION reporters, "I had my good stuff and it went where I wanted it to go."
He registered 5 strikeouts and 3 walks in shutting out Altoona 5-0.
