| Breaking News |  | Saturday, June 12th, 2010: Lofgren 5-5 for Trenton Chuck Lofgren had an answer for everything the Akron Aeros threw him today in the Trenton 13-1 triumph at Trenton Grounds. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Trenton left fielder went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Lofgren said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
C. Lofgren hit a two-run home run off J. Kantakevich in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off K. Schmidt in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
In the 2010 season Lofgren has hit .565 with 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 7 runs. |  | Thursday, June 3rd, 2010: Saunders Pitches Aeros to Shutout Win Michael Saunders effectively shut down the Phillies today, blanking them 1-0 on 2 hits, ringing up 14 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Aeros pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Saunders said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
The Phillies skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
In 2010 Saunders has worked 99 innings with 61 strikeouts en route to a 4-5 record and 2.18 ERA. |  | Tuesday, June 1st, 2010: Kantakevich Whips Altoona In an excellent mound performance, Joseph Kantakevich of the Akron Aeros whitewashed the Altoona Curve 8-0 on a 3-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Altoona manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Kantakevich did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Akron hurler rang up 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win.
In 14 starts this season Kantakevich has gathered 6 wins while suffering 5 losses.
