| Breaking News | | Thursday, September 16th, 2010: Park Out for 4 Weeks The Arizona Diamondbacks will lose the services of starting pitcher Chan Ho Park after he sustained a strained elbow ligament while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Colorado Rockies. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Park said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 4 weeks.
This season Park has compiled a 14-11 record with a 3.73 ERA. | | Saturday, September 11th, 2010: Arizona Comes up Empty Against Waldrop "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the Arizona manager said, "Steven Waldrop made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Waldrop had 6 strikeouts, 3 walks and allowed only 6 hits as the Milwaukee Brewers whitewashed the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-0.
To date Waldrop is 10-7 in 29 starts with a 3.23 ERA and has 236 strikeouts in 198 innings. | | Sunday, August 8th, 2010: Arizona Retains Bruney Arizona received a bit of good news today as their reliever Brian Bruney accepted a $2,900,000-per-year offer that will keep him in a Diamondbacks uniform for 5 years.
In 48 relief appearances in 2010, Bruney has nailed down the victory 0 times for his club. In 58.1 innings he has fanned 55 batters and walked 34.
