Today at Clippers Ballpark the Columbus third baseman really burned Norfolk pitching, going 5-for-6 in the Clippers 16-3 triumph.
"When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
This season Romak has hit at a .396 clip with 15 RBIs, 4 home runs and 9 runs scored. He has played in 30 games. | | Tuesday, April 27th, 2010: Cota Torches Tides for 5 Hits Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Lynx Ballpark when Humberto Cota of Ottawa scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Norfolk Tides.
He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Lynx get by the Tides 5-1.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the catcher of the Lynx exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens...good things happen...like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
H. Cota singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off M. Minor in the 9th.
Cota is currently hitting at a .329 pace with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and has scored 11 times. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | LF Carlos Ruiz | inguinal hernia | 6 days | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 34-42, .447 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 19.0 GB | | Record at home | 19-18, .514 PCT | | Record on the road | 15-24, .385 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-3, .400 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 12-11, .522 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-20, .355 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 23-22, .511 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in May | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in June | 9-10, .474 PCT |
