"I wasn't always confident at the start of a game," said Beattie. "Sometimes it's hard to get into the flow -- the calls aren't going your way or you're trying to spot your pitches too much. You just have to relax and use what you've been taught all your life -- get back to basics -- good mechanics, control, location, keep the ball down."
The 27-year-old tossed 50 innings of quality baseball -- going 6-0 with a 0.72 ERA and 54 strikeouts.
Thus far this season, Beattie has worked 216.2 innings with 240 strikeouts en route to a 18-3 record and a 2.16 ERA. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | 1B Adam LaRoche | fractured ankle | 5 months | On DL, eligible for return (60-day DL) | | P Danny Christensen | torn rotator cuff muscle | one week | On DL, eligible for return (60-day DL) | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 93-69, .574 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 1.0 GB | | Record at home | 52-29, .642 PCT | | Record on the road | 41-40, .506 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-10, .375 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 32-29, .525 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 80-53, .602 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 11-13, .458 PCT | | Record in May | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in June | 13-13, .500 PCT | | Record in July | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in August | 20-9, .690 PCT | | Record in September | 13-14, .481 PCT |
