The Palm Beach third baseman battered the opposition for 54 hits, 21 doubles, 2 triples, 20 home runs, 63 runs batted in and scored 41 runs. He hit .270 and posted a .370 on-base percentage.

The Akron designated hitter ended the year with a .369 batting average, 69 hits, 8 home runs, 37 RBIs, .480 OBP and scored 50 times. |  | Saturday, July 5th, 2008: Brevard County's Mendoza Snags Outstanding Pitcher Award Tommy Mendoza walked away this year with the top pitching honors in the National - A. The Brevard County Manatees starter was named the Outstanding Pitcher Award winner for 2008 earlier in the day.
This outstanding 20-year-old hurler fashioned a fine 6-2 won-lost record in 13 starts. He threw 104.2 innings, giving up 83 hits and 38 walks and holding opponents to a .221 average. Mendoza struck out 73 and posted a 1.55 ERA.
