 | Tuesday, July 21st, 2009: Hernandez Hurt, Out of Lineup 1-2 Weeks It took the Cleveland team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Gabriel Hernandez won't simply play through a tender shoulder after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's White Sox-Indians game. At first, it looked like Hernandez might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Hernandez as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon. This season Hernandez has registered 8 wins and 7 losses in 20 starts with a 2.91 ERA. |
