Tuesday, October 14th, 2008: Meche Struts Stuff in Kansas City Win
On the hill Gil Meche stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Kansas City 2-0.

At bat the Royals floundered, fizzled and failed to score.

"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Kansas City manager said. "He kept us off balance."

The Seattle pitcher hurled a 2-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 1 walk and numbered 2 strikeouts.

"I felt good," Meche said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."

So far this season, Meche has logged a 15-11 record with a 4.09 ERA. He has started 32 games, hurled 209 innings and registered 159 strikeouts and 44 walks.
