ASBL News Article | |  | Thursday, September 11th, 2008: Tejada Socks 300-th HR The New York (A) Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 10-2 yesterday in a game that featured Miguel Tejada's 300th career home run.
In the clubhouse, the Yankees shortstop spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?"
On his historic day, Tejada banged out 1 hit in 4 at-bats and scored 2 runs with 2 RBI.
In his 1693-game career, Tejada has hit at a .274 clip and collected 1777 hits with 297 doubles, 29 triples, 300 homers and 1065 RBIs. | |
