 | Monday, September 1st, 2008: Rookie Reaps Reward This Month Almost everyone agreed -- fans, teammates, peers -- and SION sportwriters, too -- that Alex Gordon was worthy of the AL Rookie of the Month award. In the month of August the Chicago (A) third baseman was a bigtime threat. The 24-year-old Chicago (A) third baseman played in 28 games and hit .313 with 11 doubles, 1 triple and 5 home runs. Gordon also scored 19 times and drove in 18 runs. So far this year in 131 games Gordon is hitting .299 with 33 home runs, 89 RBIs and 93 runs scored. |
