Tuesday, August 19th, 2008: Toronto Starting Pitcher Hurt
It took the Toronto team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Bob Keppel won't simply play through a tender shoulder after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Orioles-Blue Jays game. At first, it looked like Keppel might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Keppel as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.

Season-to-date Keppel has rung up 11 wins and 6 losses in 25 appearances. He has an ERA of 4.02 and has fanned 172 batters in 161 innings.
