 | Thursday, July 31st, 2008: Royals Trade Murray to White Sox for Braun The Kansas City Royals have parted ways with 26-year old starting pitcher A.J. Murray, 28-year old reliever Yhency Brazoban, 24-year old minor league first baseman Stephen Head, 24-year old minor league shortstop Scott White, 25-year old minor league starting pitcher Don Levinski, 24-year old minor league shortstop Andres Blanco, 24-year old minor league starting pitcher Mike Everts and 23-year old minor league starting pitcher Keith Weiser, sending him to the Chicago (A) White Sox for 24-year old second baseman Ryan Braun, 22-year old reliever Edwin Burns, a 3rd round draft pick, a 4th round draft pick and a 5th round draft pick. The Royals general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning. In 15 starts this season Murray has registered a 6-6 record and a 3.23 ERA. Braun is batting at a .257 pace in 2008, picking up 103 hits in 401 at-bats with 20 home runs, 64 RBIs and 44 runs scored. |
