 | Thursday, July 31st, 2008: Chicago (A) and Tampa Bay Agree to Deal The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Chicago (A) White Sox sent 25-year old minor league second baseman Jarett Hoffpauir and a 2nd round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for 24-year old starting pitcher Francisco Liriano. Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal. Currently Liriano has a 8-7 won-lost record in 23 starts with a 3.26 ERA. He also has 171 strikeouts in 174 innings. |
