 | Monday, July 14th, 2008: Pirates-Orioles Deal: Sabathia for Pena The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Pittsburgh Pirates sent 27-year old starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia to the Baltimore Orioles for 26-year old left fielder Wily Mo Pena. Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal. In 2008 Sabathia has worked 130.1 innings with 115 strikeouts en route to a 8-9 record and 3.45 ERA. This year Pena is batting .241 with 20 home runs and 47 RBIs. |
